Reflecting on 2024: a year of impact, balance, and growth at Simprints
As 2024 draws to a close, it’s the perfect time to reflect on the year we’ve had at Simprints. It’s been a year of impact, innovation, and intentional growth, so we asked Tara Clarkson, our Chief of People and Culture, to share some of the highlights that made this year unforgettable.
Groundbreaking milestone
Simprints has now reached over 3 million people, helping local ecosystems deliver critical health, aid, and financial services to families. This achievement reflects both the power of technology to transform lives and the commitment of our partners and team. Together, we’re building a future where no one is left behind.
New Impact Review
One of the most meaningful highlights of the year was the release of our Impact Review.
At Simprints, we’re driven by the mission to ensure that every dollar invested in international development reaches the people who need it most. That’s why it’s so important to explore impact evidence in this publication.
I was touched to hear from Sosina*, a programme participant in Ethiopia. With the support of our partners, Sosina’s post-treatment appointments have been easier and faster because of the use of our technology.
It’s stories like this that remind us of the people at the heart of our work. Download the Impact Review for more impact stories.
A fresh new look for simprints.com
In 2024, we also unveiled our brand-new website. Designed to better showcase our mission, values, and impact, the site serves as a hub for partners, donors, and anyone interested in deploying Simprints. With updated content and a user-friendly design, our website reflects the innovative and forward-thinking spirit of our team.
Another award-winning year
This year, we were honoured to receive several prestigious awards recognising our impact and innovation.
From winning the Lipman Family Prize for innovation in the social sector, to featuring in the Responsible Tech Organisations list curated by the All Tech is Human network. We also became Flexa certified and were listed in multiple Best Workplace lists by Great Place to Work.
These accolades are a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team and the transformative potential of our technology. While we’re proud of these achievements, they also motivate us to push further in years to come.
Embracing the four-day workweek
One of the boldest steps we’ve continued this year is the implementation of our four-day workweek, alongside developing a game-changing mutual-flex team culture.
At Simprints, we’ve always believed in the importance of work-life balance, and this shift has allowed our team to thrive professionally while prioritising well-being. The benefits are clear: greater productivity, happier team members, and more time for the things that matter most outside of work. It’s a policy that reflects our commitment to fostering a culture where people can do their best work alongside enjoying their personal lives.
Strengthening our evidence base
This year also marked significant strides in how we measure impact. Our Monitoring, Evaluation, and Impact (MEI) team conducted four in-depth studies and launched an internal evidence library to share key learnings. The team also received support from USAID’s Development Innovation Ventures (DIV) grant to conduct a new impact evaluation project. This is an outstanding foundation for us to build a robust evidence base on how our technology impacts the health outcomes of children in Ghana. These efforts ensure we remain accountable to our mission and continuously improve our solutions to create even greater impact.
Uniting in Morocco
Back in May, we brought the entire Simprints team together for an unforgettable gathering in Morocco. Against the stunning backdrop of Marrakech, we strengthened our bonds as a team, shared ideas, and aligned on our vision for the future. It was a powerful reminder of the importance of connection and collaboration as we work to tackle some of the world’s most pressing challenges.
Looking ahead
As we reflect on 2024, we’re immensely proud of what we’ve achieved, but we’re equally excited about the journey ahead. Whether it’s further refining our technology, deepening our impact, or nurturing our team, we’re ready to tackle 2025 with the same passion and purpose that define Simprints.
For now, I’m wishing all of our partners and the communities we work with the happiest of holidays. With best wishes, Tara.
