Technology alone cannot end poverty. It can enable and magnify impact, but only if used correctly and applied to making better decisions. That’s why we work closely with our partners to customise our solution to each programme, build the capacity of frontline workers, and provide data-driven recommendations for improving service delivery.

Our funding partners

The Autodesk Foundation invests in non-profits and startups to de-risk innovation and scale industry-transforming solutions. Since 2016, Autodesk has supported Simprints in growing from an idea to a widely-used solution.

British semiconductor and software company Arm, has supported Simprints from the start with engineering, funding, and mentorship. We’re proud to partner with them to improve lives through healthcare projects in Bangladesh and Ghana.

Cisco and the Cisco Foundation work with non-profits to develop tech solutions for social problems. Since 2019, we’ve partnered with them to create safe, inclusive, and scalable face biometrics.

The Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF) supports Simprints in verifying patients in Ethiopia’s health system and tackling neglected tropical diseases. CIFF also funds our open-source biometric solutions.

Since 2018, as an INFUSE PaceSetter, Simprints has worked with Gavi to improve immunisation programs. This partnership has led to child biometrics innovations, reduced health worker burden, and saved time for vaccinators and recipients.

The Steele Foundation for Hope provides global access to essential needs through technology. We’re proud to partner with them on our Ghana Health Service project and open-source technology.

The Global Fund recognised our data science and monitoring and evaluation capabilities, supporting our Technical Assistance and Capacity Building Services to help Ministries achieve sustainable local ownership of our solutions.

In May 2023, we signed a contract to explore advanced security and privacy techniques for humanitarian use. Our open-source approach and commitment to ethical biometrics were key to securing the partnership.

Innovations in Healthcare have supported our work to improve and strengthen the capacity of Community Health Workers in rural Uganda for effective delivery of the COVID-19 vaccine.

To clear a backlog of sight-saving eye surgeries in Ethiopia, Orbis have partnered with Simprints so that surgeries and follow-on treatment can be accurately verified in real-time.

We collaborated with Duke University, Pfizer Foundation, King Baudouin Foundation, Innovations in Healthcare, and local Uganda NGO partner Mobiklinic, to address the critical healthcare challenges faced by Uganda’s rural population.

Accurate, verifiable data is at the heart of research, and when Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade wanted to explore potential barriers to engagement with social welfare programs in Bangladesh, they turned to Simprints for collaboration.

When embarking on a population-wide TB and Leprosy Research program in Kiribati, the University of Sydney knew that managing unique ID among the highly mobile population was going to be a challenge. Facing low levels of literacy and little if any formal ID, the team turned to Simprints.

With support from The Pfizer Foundation’s Global Health Innovations Grants program, we’re helping drive community-centred solutions to strengthen healthcare systems and address vaccine-preventable illnesses.

As the new electronic community health information system (eCHIS) gets rolled out across Ethiopia, JSI have partnered with Simprints to help health clinics become paperless. Biometrics is empowering health extension workers to enrol and verify the identification of patients efficiently and accurately.

Implementing partners

The Federal Ministry of Health Ethiopia acknowledges Simprints’ crucial role in verifying healthcare recipients. We verify deworming tablets for schistosomiasis, trachoma surgeries and follow-ups, and help register patients in the electronic community health information system (eCHIS).

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) is a key digital innovator in the SMART Bangladesh initiative. We have partnered with MHFW divisions to demonstrate the use of biometrics as a unique identifier for children under five.

Working closely with GHS, our innovative technology is supporting access to critical maternal and child services in multiple health centres across the Eastern and OTI regions in Ghana. We’re excited to continue working together to strengthen the health system and support health equity in Ghana through digitisation using biometrics.

Partnering with BRAC’s urban health programme, we ensured that Shasthya Kormis (community health workers) reached expectant mothers in time to detect, prevent, and treat potential health issues before they become dangerous complications.

Mercy Corps, a global humanitarian organisation, partnered with Simprints to use biometric fingerprint scanners in their cash transfer programmes (CTPs) serving internally displaced communities in Borno state, Nigeria. Participants using Simprints reported that they felt biometrics was safer and easier than remembering a PIN or carrying a card.
